4th of July in Roatan, Honduras

Our 4th of July was a little different this year. Not being in Texas where everything is huge was quite a change. We went to Infinity Bay Resort in West Bay, this is where everyone was going that wanted to see fireworks. They had hot dogs and hamburgers and around 7ish (we are on island time here and NOTHING begins or ends on time; BC would fit right in) we got a glimpse of what they were able to muster up as their big firework display. It was nothing like Lake Conroe puts on but the kids had a blast and got to hang out with some of their new friends.

We had a pretty neat encounter today at the beach. A couple saw us walking down the beach and stopped us to ask if we were the Vicks. They had just gotten to Roatan today and said that they had read our blog and that it helped save their trip by putting them at ease about the situation on mainland Honduras. Small world; and Carlton and Amber are actually from Spring, Texas. We even ran into them this evening at the fireworks on the beach. We keep hearing this is a small island and we keep finding out that it is very true. Each person that we meet ends up knowing another person that knows another person and so on; it's six degrees of separation...

Take care and God bless.
